Support groups bring together people who share similar experiences and provide an opportunity for people to process their personal experiences and feelings, learn coping strategies or firsthand information about diseases or treatments, and improve the ability to cope with stressful situations, alleviate the effects of emotional distress and promote lifelong good mental health.
